4 Wheel Drive Real Estate!

I LOVE MY JOB.

It is diverse. I can sit at my computer and use my left brain to develop my web site or pour over data to see developments and write marketing reports. This week after writing my blog about the land market in our area I have gone out in the field...and mountains and mud!

I've gone 4 wheeling and hiking for most of the last week and a half. I've been doing several things. Most of which use my right brain.

  • Taking new pictures of land that I have on the market. This requires lots of hiking. In Cochise County Arizona there is LOTS of open space to go to.
  • Driving clients out to look at land....it's a blast. A couple have gotten mud baths but generally it is pretty darn exciting to drive these country roads to see raw land.
  • Then I often go back again to find markers for property definitions, or look to see where the washes run and will there be good home sites.

Selling land is really interesting. Many people are starting their lives from raw land. It is really something when people learn what the basics are for taking care of yourself and creating a new home. It makes the mother in me happy to be able to point out what is neccessary for life.

I live off grid myself and have first hand experience with what the minimum requirements are. I've also done all the research for my own situation and it really helps to know all these things when a newbie is wanting to strike out on their own and live on their acreage.

So, this job supplies me with intellectual stimulation, artistic expression, exercize and adventure ....I just need to find time to eat! :)
